FOR THE FIRST TIME A PERSON HAS BEEN IMPLANTED WITH A DEVICE THAT MONITORS BRAIN FUNCTION

Billionaire Elon Musk's company Neuralink is the first to implant in the human body a device responsible for controlling brain activity.

The device was implanted in a human brain last week, Musk said, and it's working just as well as they hoped.

Last year, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States gave permission to begin human trials of implanting metal into the human brain to monitor its function.

A chip implanted in the brain is responsible for controlling all the information the brain sends to the body.

Elon Musk's research aims to see that there is a time when a person can think, what he wants to be done immediately by a human-machine (robot) or computer without the need to use hands.

It's something that Musk says will help people with amputations, to continue to be productive even when their limbs are no longer able to function, but still think clearly.
